The SalkStream Story For quite a few years now, we at Salk Signature Sound ( www.salksound.com ) have been producing world-class speaker systems, customized for each individual customer. Since we are interested in the highest quality sound reproduction possible, we spent a good deal of time trying to find a pristine digital music source to mate with our speakers. While we came across quite a few components that were close to what we were looking for, we never found exactly what we were looking for. So we designed it. The heart of the SalkStream system is the SalkStream Player. This player can be used to stream music from any network computer or NAS storage device, including the SalkStream Server. The SalkStream Player is a stripped down device that contains only the hardware and software required to play music in its most pristine form. It is the most minimalistic system possible, so there is nothing to interfere with or compromise performance. If you are looking for the cleanest digital music player available today, this is it.
